Job Description
Dispatcher
To perform the duties of a dispatcher as outlined by the state of Tennessee as well as EMHC policy. EMHC dispatchers are expected to follow the listed guidelines at all times but responsibilities are not limited to those contained here.
- Follow EMHC policies at all times
- Work with shift supervisors as well as operations director on a regular basis to ensure above average knowledge of EMHC policies with regard to dispatcher roles and responsibilities.
- Report any occurrence or deviation from protocols to operations director immediately.
- Keep dispatch area clean and free of debris and or unnecessary noise and clutter.
- Maintain a positive attitude at all times when dealing with all facilities, facility staff and or other members of the public and or facility.
- Be in proper uniform at all times while on duty with EMHC.
- Be familiar with all dispatch protocols as well as contract information with regard to specific dispatch criteria for all patients.
- Be familiar with area Geographic’s to ensure proper unit utilization on a daily basis.
- Be familiar with reimbursement policies as they apply to EMHC business.
- Be familiar with all computer and or other programs contained in the dispatch area.
- Have working knowledge of proper radio etiquette and all policies with regard to same to include but not limited to EMHC and FCC policy/regulations
- Must be enrolled and show proof of enrollment in a current EMT Program, Hold a certificate of EMT, or a licensed EMT.
EMT Extern
To perform the duties of a EMT EXTERN/Ambulance Driver as outlined by the state of Tennessee as well as EMHC policy. EMHC EMT Externs are expected to follow the listed guidelines at all times but responsibilities are not limited to those contained here.
- Follow EMHC policies at all times
- Assist in treatment of all patients in accordance with policies and protocols as established by the state of Tennessee, EMHC or other governing agency.
- Work with shift supervisors as well as the EMT Manager and Administrative Director on a regular basis to ensure above average knowledge of EMHC policies with regard to EMT EXTERN roles and responsibilities.
- Report any occurrence or deviation from protocols to operations director immediately.
- Stock, clean and maintain assigned units daily.
- Maintain a positive attitude at all times when dealing with all facilities, facility staff and or other members of the public and or facility.
- Be in proper uniform at all times while on duty with EMHC.
- Must be enrolled and show proof of enrollment to an approved EMT program. Upon Completion of such program the extern will have 120 days to obtain an State of Tennessee EMT-IV License or be subject to immediate termination of EMT Extern program. If a extern should be dismissed from the EMT program he or she will be dismissed from the extern program immediately.
EMT/EMT-IV
To perform the duties of a EMT or EMT-IV as outlined by the state of Tennessee and the national registry as well as other governing agencies and EMHC policy. EMHC EMT’S are expected to follow the listed guidelines at all times but responsibilities are not limited to those contained here.
- Follow EMHC policies at all times
- Provide treatment to all patients in accordance with policies and protocols as established by the state of Tennessee, EMHC or other governing agency.
- Work with shift supervisors as well as EMT Manager and the Administrative Director on a regular basis to ensure above average knowledge of EMHC policies with regard to EMT roles and responsibilities.
- Report any occurrence or deviation from protocols to the director immediately.
- Stock, clean and maintain assigned units daily.
- Maintain a positive attitude at all times when dealing with all facilities, facility staff and or other members of the public and or facility.
- Be in proper uniform at all times while on duty with EMHC.
EMT-Paramedic
To perform the duties of a paramedic as outlined by the state of Tennessee and the national registry as well as other governing agencies and EMHC policy. EMHC paramedics are expected to follow the listed guidelines at all times but responsibilities are not limited to those contained here.
- Follow EMHC policies at all times
- Provide treatment to all patients in accordance with policies and protocols as established by the state of Tennessee, EMHC or other governing agency.
- Follow EMHC policy with regard to narcotic logs as well as proper administration forms (narcotic administration form).
- Work with shift supervisors as well as the EMT Manager and Administrative Director on a regular basis to ensure above average knowledge of EMHC policies with regard to paramedic roles and responsibilities.
- Report any occurrence or deviation from protocols to operations director immediately.
- Stock, clean and maintain assigned units daily.
- Maintain a positive attitude at all times when dealing with all facilities, facility staff and or other members of the public and or facility.
- Be in proper uniform at all times while on duty with EMHC.
Wheelchair Van Driver
To perform the duties of a driver as outlined by the state of Tennessee as well as EMHC policy. EMHC drivers are expected to follow the listed guidelines at all times but responsibilities are not limited to those contained here.
- Follow EMHC policies at all times
- Assist in treatment of all patients in accordance with policies and protocols as established by the state of Tennessee, EMHC or other governing agency.
- Work with shift supervisors as well as the EMT Manager and Administrative Director on a regular basis to ensure above average knowledge of EMHC policies with regard to driver roles and responsibilities.
- Report any occurrence or deviation from protocols to operations director immediately.
- Stock, clean and maintain assigned units daily.
- Maintain a positive attitude at all times when dealing with all facilities, facility staff and or other members of the public and or facility.
- Be in proper uniform at all times while on duty with EMHC.
